My ancestor is James E Troy. He arrived in Massachusetts in 1846.  His wife was Johanna Flanagan

His brother, Thomas' tombstone in Danvers, Massachusetts says that he was from Waterpark.

Does anyone know of this family and if, in fact, they were from Waterpark. Historical records in

Massachusetts state that James and Thomas' parents were James Troy and Mary Sullivan.

Thank you

As per www.rootsireland.ie  James was baptised to the parents James and Mary in RC parish of Lismore  in 1823 whilst  a Thomas was baptised to father James in Cappoquin RC in 1834 (both county Waterford).  You will need to sign up to get these details from this paid site. No Troy found in Waterpark Fermoy in Tithes 1827or Griffith 1850 Valuations. A Patrick Troy in 1850 griffith valuation had a house and garden rented  in Pound Lane Kilworth whilst James and Arthur Flanagan Ballinvoher Kilworth had rented 64 acres. Quite a number of Troys in Fermoy town, bakers etc 1881
