Trying to find family of Joseph Harpur, said to be born in Kinsale @1776. He was transporte to Australia in 1800 aboard the Royal Admiral. His trial was in Surrey, 19/3/1800. Would really appreciate any tips on how or where I might find information about his life before he arrived out here. I can't find anything. Leonie.

You don't mention the religious denomination but RC records do not start until 1805 and there is a gap between 1806-1815. The closest record I could find is this 1839 baptismal record for an Edward Harpur with a father Thomas.

Joseph Harpur
Born in Kinsale, Cork, Ireland on 1776
Moved to New Zealand. We are descendents of him and his wife Sarah Chidley. There are lots of descendents here in New Zealand.
