Looking for info on John Knowles and his wife Mary Grace. He worked as a gardener for William Newman, solicitor in Kinsale, and won the award for melons at the Horticultural Society Show in 1845.
They had at least 7 children, Mary, John, Margaret, James, Kate, Jeremiah and William. They were baptised in the Roman Catholic Church at Kinsale between 1825 and 1841. Address was variously given as Kippagh, Kippogh, Keppagh.
Margaret emigrated to Australia, not sure how and when, but she was in Victoria by the late 1850s. She is my dad's grandmother.
I found her brother Jeremiah living in England from 1881. He was a musician.
Would appreciate more info on John and Mary, thier family background, dates of death etc.Thanks,

Did you know that Catholic church records from the parish of Kinsale have been uploaded free of charge to http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ ? You should be able to find records pertaining to the family here.
Another useful website is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Kinsale parish follow this link:
You could also check for record of the family in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. There are two:
The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
With regards to dates of death you may have to look at civil records as you can see from the Irish Times link that there are no burial records available for Kinsale. Unfortunately, civil registration did not begin until 1864, so only those deaths that occurred after this year will be recorded in civil records. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:
