My greatgrandparents Richard Cummings b. 1827 and Bridget Buckley b. 1825 emigrated to Iowa in 1849. Bridget's cousins Edward Buckley b. 1827(father John, mother Ellen Coleman) and John Buckley b. 1824 (father Michael Buckley) came to Minnesota in 1848. Looking for their parents and grandparents....Coleman, Cashman, Murphy, Buckley, Cummings. We think they were from Lisgoold, but maybe from Kilrush Union in Co. Clare.
Also looking for John Buckley's wife Catharine Cashman . Nov. 1833 from Lisgoold, parents were John Thomas Cashman and Ellen Murphy.

As you can see from the link below, Lisgoold is a Civil Parish in Co. Cork:
Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parish of Lisgoold begin in 1807 for baptisms and 1821 for marriages.
Kilrush is a Civil Parish inCo. Clare:

There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/ have begun a project to upload Irish church records to their site free of charge. However, so far only Counties Dublin, Kerry, Carlow and parts of Cork have been covered.
Other important sources include the Tithe Applotment Books and Griffith?s Valuation. Even those these sources only name the head of household the information is still valuable:
