My great, great, grandparents, Timothy Madden (b.1828) and Ellen Decourcy (b.1831), I believe came from Lislee in County Cork and then moved to Wales. I would love to know more about them and how far back in Cork the family can be traced. Any news would be great!

Sarah:
Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!
I'm having no success finding records for your ancestors. Lislee parish http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0076 is in the Diocese of Cork and Ross and the records are searchable for free at www.irishgenealogy.ie I could not find any marriage record or baptismal record anywhere in the Diocese for the combination of Timothy Madden and Ellen DeCoursey.
Possibly, the surname for Ellen is not correct? I saw records for an Ellen Delea/Delay.

Hi Sarah! I a also searching for Maddens for a friend of mine here in California (I'm posted undr the Cork messge board, srrhing relatively the same time period as yur ancestors.) If I stumble upon a Timothy Madden and/or Ellen DeCursey, I'll be sure to let you know. Have you tried going through the baptismal records that are on line in the library of Ireland? They're by parish and pretty easy to search once you figure the system out. -Susan Welsh Nollaig Shona do gach duine. Merry Christmas to everyon.
