Luke is thought to be a brother of John O'keeffe b:1795 Mitchelstown and m: Mary Thornhill and subject to a prior search by Mallow group. but I am not so sure that they are brothers.

  • Hi John,

The records from the area where your relatives lived start about 1800 (church records) civil registration in Ireland did not start till 1864. Both O'Keeffe and McCarthy are very common names in the area.

I have checked the tithe applotment books of Ireland and only found one Luke O'Keeffe living in KilvemnonTipperary in 1834.

    Did you try www.rootsireland.ie?
