Hi Suzanne
Thank you for sharing your information. Remember to include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search. The key to further research is finding an exact place of origin for your family. Firstly do you know what the religious denomination of your family was? you can view what Roman Catholic records exist for Bruff and other parishes through the link below:
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/ (Browse Roman Catholic Parish Map)
For Church of Ireland records see: http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/. The Anglican Record Project has created an index to their records: http://ireland.anglican.org/cmsfiles/pdf/AboutUs/library/AngRecord/bunclodyunionindex.pdf
Here are some other websites that may be of help to you which you may not be aware of:

Hello there Suzanne and greetings from Waterford in the sunny south east of Ireland.
I just had a quick look on rootsireland.ie - which has a database of church records - for your Waterford ancestors Thomas Kearney and Ann Meagher. I'm delighted to say that despite the early date that I found the following:
Marriage of Thomas Kearny and Ann Meagher 1805
baptisms of children of Thomas and Ann : John 1805, Patrick 1807, Peter 1816. All found within Co. Waterford parish registers.
The particulars of the individual records ie. dates, parish, address, godparents, witnesses etc. require payment to the particular site. Should you wish to explore it further you can do so online or if you wish drop me a line at waterfordorigins@gmail.com
I hope you find the above of help. I'm always happy to welcome home the Waterford Wanderers!
Warm wishes
Tony Hennessy
