Hello,

I believe I have discovered my ancestor's home <origin point> in Youghal. I am seeking any information on Edmond McNamara, b. about 1781, m. Ellen Mahoney, b. about 1874, c. Richard, b. 1806. So far I have found Richard's baptismal certificate dated April 14, 1806 but that is all. I am wondering if there were any other siblings and when the family emmigrated to the US. There is also a possible connection to Mourneabbey with Ellen Mahony although I am still trying to determine what that is.

    Just to clarify is there a mistake in the dates you have mentioned? Was Ellen born in 1874 or 1774?

    If it was the latter, I?m afraid it may be difficult to find more information on here as parish records for Youghal do not go back that early, they only begin in 1803 which is why you have only been able to find Richard?s birth record:

    As you can see from the above link Mallow Heritage Centre have copie of the records which include marriages from 1802. If Ellen and Edward were married after 1802 you may be able to find their marriage record. These sometimes list the couple?s fathers? names.
