Hi, Seeking any information on John (Edward) Clifford and Margaret (Peg) Shea, born early 1800's. Seeking their birth, marriage and death dates and places, their parents and siblings names. Their children were William (1834-1898), Cornelius (1836-1916), Ellen (1838-1922), John (1842 -) and Denis (1844 -).

Hi Angela,
There is a baptism record for John Clifford in Cork - 1812 on www.rootsireland.ie/. The parish is not Newmarket though.
However, there are 219 records of Margaret Shea born in Cork with 35 born 1810 + - 10 years!
It is not possible to search by parish until you have a specific record.
There is a marriage record of John Clifford marrying a Margaret but not Shea in 1828 in Cork. There were a lot of transcription problems and illiteracy issues that caused problems so perhaps it is their marriage. However, the parish is not Newmarket
There are only 2 matches for children of John Clifford & Margeret Shea 1840 + - 10 years in Cork.
On rootsireland.ie it costs to view the full record but John's baptism would give you his father's name.
I'm not sure if the bride & groom's ages are given on the marriage record which would help narrow down the 35 possible
There are no death record for JohnClifford in Cork but 64 elsewhere; similar case for Margaret
There are 72 Cliffords in the Tithe Applotments in Cork 1826-33 & 509 Sheas!

Hi Col,
Thanks so much for the info. I downloaded that baptism certificate for John Clifford. It says his parents were Patrick Clifford and Ellen Lynch and he was baptised on 28th May 1812 in Ballyclough. Not having any luck finding anything on them to confirm this is our relation. Will keep looking. Thank you again for your assistance.
Kind Regards,
Angela Doolan.
