My Grandmother was a resident of a house 64.2 in Townparks Magherafelt. I would love some information on this building. What was it and who was in charge. I have gathered this information from the 1911 census. If anyone can help i would be very grateful.

  • 64.2 appears to have been a school attached to Magherafelt workhouse.

  • I am looking for a birth of Edith Jurline/Jurlene White Freeman. She could have been registered as Edith Freeman. On the 1911 census she was 8 yrs old so birth year could be 1903. The family were living at 29 Marine Street (Duncairn Ward, Antrim). I have found everyones birth on the liust but so far i can`t find anything at all on Edith. Any help or information would really give me a start. Than you in advance.

  • The old Magherafelt workhouse records are in PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast. They are not on-line and a personal visit is generally required to view them. There are Board of Guardians minutes and admission and discharge records. I have never seen any specifically relating to the school but if they exist, PRONI should have them.
