I am searching for information on 3 different families:

William Lucas b 1850, d 2 May 1912, married Isabella Armour b 24 Apr 1879 at Magherabuoy, Donegal, married 4 Apr 1912 at Presbyterian Church, First Ray, Donegal, Ireland.

Her father was Andrew Armour a farmer and mother Ann nee Canning and she had a brother Andrew b 24 Dec 1866 at Manorcunningham, Donegal.

George Lucas b 1812 died 14 Oct 1878 at Ardiganny, Donegal, Ireland married Ellen Russell 1831 at Ballybolother, Ireland, married 2 May 1849 at Trenta in Parish of Conwall, Co Donegal, Letterkenny.

George Lucas then married Margaret Moore father David Moore farmer of Lurgy married 30 Mar 1854at Raymoghy, Donegal.

Joseph Donnelly married Annie Hamphey 25 April 1921 at Roman Catholic Ch of Bellagley, Magherfelt. had 7 of a family Phillamenia has just died this year not sure where. James eldest son was my father-in -law.

    Armour, Thomas of Magheraboy Manorcunningham county Donegal farmer died 19 April 1963 at The County Hospital Letterkenny county Donegal Probate Belfast 27 November to David C. Hay and Andrew Armour farmers. Effects ?1651 3s.

    The above probate files should be held in PRONI, Belfast.

  • Regarding the Donnelly/Hamphey family who died this year, place of the marriage will be Bellaghy (not Bellagley). To trace a death this year (which will give you their address) you need to contact GRONI in Belfast. Recent records are not on-line but are available. You need to e-mail them or ring them and get them to look the record up. (There will be a fee to pay).

    Re Lucas, I noticed this probate file:

    Administration of the Unadministered Estate of George Lucas late of Ardiganny County Donegal Farmer who died 4 July 1905 granted at Londonderry to John Lockhart Farmer. Effects ?295 5s

    George evidently died intestate. His probate file should be either in PRONI in Belfast or in the National Archives, Dublin. (The abstratc is in both sets of indexes so not sure where the original file is held).
