Hello:  Does anyone have information on Frank Mundy born approx 1820 in Inishkeel?  Other info I have indicates Glenties as place of origin.  Frank emigrated to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania mid-1800s, married Bridget Early also from that area.

Thanks, Don

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The RC records for Glenties do not start until the 1860s so no baptismal record would be available. I looked at the 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Co. Donegal and most of the Munday (spelling in Griffiths) records were down in Inishmacsaint and Kilbarron civil parishes which are in the southernmost part of Donegal on the Sligo border.

  • Hi Frank. I'm just reading your message and it was a long time ago. So I don't know if you're still even checking this site out. So my second great grandmother would be Grace MUNDAY/MUNDY or I have seen it as possibly MCLOONE. She married Francis Sharpe also written as GERIN with many different spellings. I believe they were probably born in the very late 1700s. Their son Teague stayed in Donegal but there's son  Cornelius, which is my great grandfather, immigrated to Schuylkill county Pennsylvania. If you have a tree on ancestryI do,or if you have a GED match number please let me know. I hope you find this message after all these years.  Lisa
