I am researching the family of Peter Barry (sometimes written as Berry) who married Margaret Campbell in 1840.  Looking forward to catching up with some of the family who live there when I arrive next year.

  • I looked up the 1863 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Clonallan civil parish. There were three Peter Berry entries and one Peter Barry entry. Assuming your ancestor was still living in 1863, he is likely one of those four records.

I also looked on Roots Ireland and there are baptismal records for Berry and Barry children where the father was Peter but in all situations the mother's name was Mary Campbell.

  • Hi,

Just read your post. I am currently researching my several times great grandmother, Catherine Barry, who married in Clonallon in 1845. I am wondering if maybe these two were brother and sister or cousins. Hope your visit to Ireland went well.
