John Bannon was a Chelsea pensioner who married Isabella (McQuarters?) and they had at least 5 children who all stated their place of birth as County Down, Ireland.

The children are Robert; John; Agnes; Mary Jane and Sarah Ann - all born in Ireland between 1818 and 1830. John Bannon applied for a land grant in Canada and appears to have arrived in Ontario between 1832 and 1836.

On John Bannon Sr information, Castleblaney was also mentioned but at this point I have no real and accurate information to go on except what various records indicate throughout the years.

I am trying to find any information on this family to fill in many blanks such as the ship, date of arrival and actual place of origin.

John Bannon Sr was born about 1777 but he himself may not have been born in County Down although his children have stated that was their birthplace.

The name Bannon was spelled Bannin/Bannan/Bannon. They eventually settled in the Belmont/Havelock area of Peterborough County in Ontario, Canada.

Thanks.
