Can anyone help me find my ancestors? They were from Down County,Kilkeel Parish.Supposed to be several that came to America and settled in New jersey.Joses Dorris was one name that was in Ireland.

I checked the 1863 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilkeel parish and there were no Dorris or Doris entries.
What time period did the Dorris family members leave Ireland?
I did look at www.familysearch.org entered Dorris and Irish births and there were a good number in Belfast and Co. Monaghan 1880s and later. You may want to check out the site.

William Dorris was born in County down in 1705.He was my 3 times great grandather.He came to New Jersey and fought in the American Revolution.
