  • Dear Kevin:

Thank you for your query to Ireland Reaching Out and welcome!

Keep checking back to see if there are any new replies to the post that you have put up.  In addition, if you have an ancesytor from Enniskillen that you would like to bring attention to, please consider sharing Anne McMahon or Philip Malone (with a photo of either if you have it) to the XO Chronicles under the People/Ancestor Section, please do so.

If you have any further questions, please get back to us.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

  • Thank's Jane

It is family lore that suggests my Malone, McMahon connection is Enniskillen. Local death and marriage certificates in Canada indicate Fermanagh as home but no connecction has ever been found as proof. Records from Enniskillen in the 1860's show both family names in use so I am hoping to find someone who has a treee containing my missing Philip and Anne.

  • Dear Kevin:

    Thanks for your reply.

Would you consider putting a profile on our Chronicles page for Philip and/or Anne?  Even a family profile might be worth putting up so that others reading the Chronicles would see it.

Let me know if I can be of further help.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

  • Philip Malone b 1805 d 1873 Ontario Canada married Anne McMahon b1805 died 1884 Ottawa Canada

Children are Joseph James Malone b1832, Edward b 1834, Patrick 1836, Philip 1838, Barney 1842. All born in Ireland but no records found. Death certificates in Canada list Fermanagh as birth place for everyone. The family appear on Canada first big cencus in 1851 and is easliy tracked to today from there still having roots in the original township of Brudenell Ontario.

Once in Canada the Malones donated a corner of land for a school house and it is remembered one of Philips children taught there as the family could read and write.

My hope would be to find a relative of this clan who knows where the family truely lived prior to emigration.
