An article from the Enniskillen Chronicle of 1829 mentions two places that I cannot find anywhere -

Killeraw and Killyhevor.

They appear to belong to Lord Erne's estate but don't seem to be on the later Griffith's survey so perhaps the names were changed. Any help would be gratefully received.

Rich.

  • Rich:

This site has all the townlands in Ireland based on the 1851 census. http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/index.html

I entered "kil" in the townland field and then checked "beginning of field" and got all the townlands meeting the criteria for Co. Fermanagh. No exact match but there are some possibilities.

I also checked this site http://www.libraryireland.com/topog/     and got no record.

  • That is a really useful website.
Killyraw is a close match to Killeraw - so I'll start searching Griffiths with that name. From the newspaper report it sounds like Killyhevor is nearby so I'll scour the area!

Thank you for your help Roger.
