Dear Abbeyknockmoy Parish Admin

My great grandfather Lawrence Reynolds was born in Liss c1853  I am trying to find the Reynolds connection with two other Liss families whom I know are distant relations, the McWalters and the Morans as well as possibly another family named Treacy Would appreciate if you were able to confirm a marriage record of Judith Reynolds and John Blade c1820s / 1830s which may tie these together which i am told is in the Abbeyknockmoy records It looks like their daughter Mary married Walter McWalter and possibly another daughter / granddaughter married a Moran I have also Michael Tracy and Julia Blade having several children beginning with Thomas in 1874 and their son John emigrating to Boston  is on the same boat as his Blade cousins in 1907 I would appreciate if you could have a look at the church records for these possible marriages and also for baptisms of their children to confirm the relationship Martin

    hi Martin,

The Forum is really to help connect people originally from the same area, and I don't have access to church records.

Have you tried contacting the church to see if they have a Registrar that will check the records ??

There is a Church Baptism record for Reynolds, Laurence - 1853 - Co. Galway at the RootsIreland website......

If you view the record it MAY show the parents names, some of the details held can be disappointing.

If you use the search facility, there are other REYNOLDS birth records around that time, but I don't see a marriage record for John Blade and a Reynolds on this site.

There is a birth record for a Mary Blade b.1870.

RootsIreland have a commissioned research service, not sure how much it costs, you could email them and find out.

  • Hi Martin!

I'm a few years late in joining this group.  I know you have now found this relationship you were looking for.  Kind of fun to be able to look back at the process.

Regards - one of those Moran decendants :-)
