Mary Burke, daughter of Bridgit Killilea and Patrick Burke traveled to US in 1909 leaving Ireland on May 20th 1909 and arriving on s.s. merion at Phildelphia port on May 31,st 1909. Mary married to a Walter Holland and had daughter Ruth E. Holland. Also possible 2nd marrage to a John Meredith. Ruth orphaned my father in USA Michigan. This makes Ruth my grandmother.

We also had more family come over from Annaghdown, Galaway as well.. Last name is O'Neil. The list is long and I was lucky enough to find a very detailed page on line from a man named Kevin O'Neil.  I tried to contact him but had no luck. I will give the address of his web page...  It really says it all..

I also created an Annaghdown Parish, county Galaway Ireland page on Facebook.

The address directly to this page is https://www.facebook.com/Annaghdown/Burke/KillileaUSA  or you can search by my name Jessica Buffler and get to my page that way.  The first link I provided though is enough on it's own to see if we may me family...I sure hope I find you guys!!!!

God Bless,

Jessica Buffler

  • I share the Burke/ONeil information provided by Kevin O'Neil.

My tree is on Ancestry,  Find my direct ancestors by searching Francis ONEIL 1805-1844 m Bridget BURKE

thru their son Martin O'NEIL   All caps surname indicates my direct line. I was unable to get on your Killilea tree.

I do have a John O'Neil b 1799 m Bridget Killilea as other Killilea in that Ancestry tree.
