Dominick Kelly of castle Lyndican

Hi I have been tracing my Kilkelly roots for the past 6 months or so and have built up a lot of information. Still have some puzzles and would love to discuss.

My great grandparents Michael Kilkelly  and Honor Joyce (See below) are buried in Tobar Padraig, Ryehill and have spent hours going through a huge amount of information on Kilkelly’s in an effort to find my great great grandparents.  I have searched for all Michael Kilkelly’s in various sources and believe the most likely place of birth for my great grandfather Michael (born circa 1827) is the townland of Lissalondoon, in parish of  Kilconieron.

I have seen a census abstract from 1841 which shows age and parents/siblings. If this is him, his father was a Bryan Kilkelly whose family may have been evicted after his death from the Daly Dunsandle Estate around the time of the famine. Michael may have then ended up in  Ryehill/ Corrafaireen area before settling in Athenry. That’s my theory and I’m trying to find some documented links between Bryan and my great grandfather Michael (b 1827) and am struggling. Any ideas on where I could look.

Bryan Kilkelly (Killkelly) born 1795 and died 1839 (Lissalondoon , Kilconieron) He is in Tithe applotments for 1826 also at this address spelled differently

He married Mary Holland (b 1798 Fiddane, Ardrahan) was living in 1844 Living in Littlebridge in 1841 census with 8 children including Michael born 1827

MY GREAT GRANDFATHER                                                                                          

Michael Kilkelly            born 1827.  lived in Corrafaireen, Ryehill and Athenry

                            died 1898. buried in Tobar Padraig Ryehill

Married to Honoria Joyce    born 1839    

                            died 1927. buried in Tobar Padraig Ryehill

MY GRANDPARENTS     

Michael Kilkelly     born 1872 in Caherroyn, Athenry

                                    died 1954, buried in Athenry

Married to Ellen Coyne      born in 1868 in Park Athenry

Park, Athenry                died 1967.buried in Athenry

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Died 1765  partner of Arther Lynch in Bilbao?  

His parents were Bryan Kilkelly and Rebecca Ormsby

5 siblings

His grandparents were Flann Kilkelly and Sarah O'Neill
