Looking for more information regarding my grandfather Thomas McDonnell who was born to James McDonnell and Mary Burke 1886. He immigrated to U.S. 1910.

Thank you

Pat

I found a family in Kellysgrove townland Clontuskert civil parish in the 1901 census. The father was James and the mother was Mary. Thomas was 22 which is about 8 years older than your 1886 year of birth. I also included the 1911 census. James, the father, had died between the two censuses.Thomas was still in Ireland. Let me know what you think?

  • Did they live in Poolboy? I also have a McDonnell who lived on Canal street? It was on the ships manifest when he came into Ellis Island in 1911. The name of the McDonnell in Poolboy or on Canal street was either James or John. Does any of this fit?

The family I found lived in Kellysgrove townland Clontuskert civil parish. I did look up Pollboy townland in Monivea civil parish. There were 3 McDonnell families in that townland including one with a 17 year old Thomas. See below.
