My Grandmother's parents were Denis Forde b c 1830 died 1st june 1890 in Kilchreest and Bridget Costello b c 1836. They had six children (that I have found) John b 6 October 1855 in Kilchreest died between 1860 and 1865, Michael b 7 July 1860 in Kilchreest, John b 17 September 1865 in Kilchreest, mary b 21 July 1868 in Woodville, Margaret b 7 September 1971 in Ballyguane d 7 September 1871 in Woodville and my Grandmother Bridget b 4 April 1874 in Kilchreest, m 16 November 1899 in Warrington, d 12 May 1954 in Warrington, Cheshire.
I am looking for any information about the family.

I located 1901 and 1911 census records for a Bridget Forde living in the town of Kilchreest. Possibly this Bridget is the wife of Denis.In the 1901 census, she indicates born in Mayo but 1911 says Galway. The 1911 census indicates a marriage around 1855 and eight children with four living in 1911. There is a grandchild with the name Mitchel. Any Mitchels in the family?
By the way, I found a civil death index record for a Bridget Forde who died in the last quarter of 1911 and was listed as age 77. This may be the same person. The death was recorded in the Loughrea registration district which includes Kilchreest.

Thanks for that. The 1911 census is correct as I already have that. Mary Mitchell is my Mother, not sure why she was staying with her Grandmother but it was said that she was a 'sickly child'. Her sister Kathleen was staying with her Aunt, Mary Higgins, at house 20 Bothermore, Galway North at the same time. My Mother's younger sister was born in 1908 in Warrington so I do not know if that was the reason for the two of them to be in Ireland. Unfortunately one only finds these things out after those involved have died.
