I'm looking for informtion on my great, great grandfather, John O"Malley . He married Mary O'Halloran and had a son, Michael who was born around 1857. Michael married Bridget Prenderghast (daughter of Peter Penderghast and Mary Connelly). Michael and Bridget were both in Massachusetts by 1886 when their first of 7 children was born.
Any informaton on John & Mary O'Mally, Peter & Mary Penderghast and Michael & Bridget O'Malley would be very much appreciated.
I found John O'Malley listed in Griffith's Valuation and this listed Killursa as the Parish. A cousin told me they came from Roundstone but have not had luck locating the family there.

You could try checking the Valuations office in Dublin (http://www.valoff.ie) which should will have a record of the land registry from 1855 to modern times. This may assist in seeing what happened to any land the family may have owned (as it usually passed on to a relation).
You might also try the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) : Microfilm copies of the books for all of Ireland are available at the National Archives of Ireland (NAI) http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/tithe-applotment-books-and-the-primary-griffith-valuation/ or the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS) https://familysearch.org/. Also www.failteromhat.com Failte Romhat has lots of other useful links you could try looking at.
