I am back seeking help again. I am trying to establish a connection that I am sure exists between two Fahey families. The Fahey group I am looking for are related I think to Michael Fahey and Bridget Skehill grouping.

I have a record of a Patrick Fahey whose wife was Mary Fahey nee Fahey. They would have been born around 1875, probably in the Peterswell area. They had three children in Ashton under Lyne, England: Mary b 22.06.1901; James, b 13.04.1903; and Julia 06.04.1904. d 04.1904.

I cannot trace them after except that a very similar family on a ship's manifest: Mary, aged 28, Mary 6, James 4, and John 2, going to Philadelphia in June 1907 to Patrick Fahey, father and husband , living at Shirley Street, Philadelphia.

My questions are : was there a Patrick Fahey and Mary Fahey married around 1898 in the Peterswell area ?

did a Patrick and Mary Fahey have a son John about 1905 in the area?

If so, they are probably the family I am tryng to track down.

Thank you for all your previous help.

Kind regards,

John Holland.

  • John:

There is a civil marriage in May 19 1901 of a Patrick Fahy and Mary Fahy in Peterswell but would they have had a child in England the next month?

  • Hi Roger,

Thank you for your help: I'm sure you are right about the time frame. I think this couple will be related to me somewhere along the line though!

At least it rules out these.

    Kind regards,

    John
