Michael Lally

I searched Roots Ireland and found two Michael Lally baptismal records in Loughrea. There was one on May 23rd 1835 and the parents were Joseph Lally and Honora Kelly. The second record was in 1838 as you indicated with John Lally and Honora Kelly as the parents. My guess is that the 1835 Michael died young and the second was born in 1838. I could not find a James Lally but located Ann and Patrick. See below.

We believe my great great granfather Joseph Lally,born in 1794 (?) died in Loughrea in 1878. I cannot find any birth record for him and who were his parents. Possible siblings are Peter 1774-1864, Catherine 1774-1864, John 1781-1865, Bridget 1783-1869 and Honor 1786-1871, all of whom died in Loughrea. As with Joseph I cannot find any birth records for the possible siblings.Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Jerry Lally

The Loughrea RC records do not start until 1827.

Civil death records started in 1864. From 1864-1890 only index records are available online. Starting in 1891 the images of the records are available online for free at www.irishgenealogy.ie  They are working to add images for records prior to 1891 but I don't have a time frame.
