Hello,

Could someone give me some help on how to find a BallyDuggan/BallyDugan in Mullagh Co.Galway, /ireland?

Our great grandmother, Ellen Aillen Duggan was born there May 3, 1885.  Her parents may have been Thomas Duggan and Bridget Cusack.  Please contact me at a5a55@sbcglobal.net

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Barbara from Modesto, CA

  • Hi Barbara

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I live in Kilbannon the parish where Mullagh is situated. I have never heard of Ballyduggan but perhaps it is supposed to be 'Ballygaddy' as they are quite close to each other. (I have just called somone who knows the area but he has never heard of it!)

The only baptism for an Ellen Duggan born in Galway in 1885 I could see was in Lisheenavalla in the parish of Lackagh to parents Manus Duggan and Honor Bourke. Can you let me know where you found the birth date and the reference to Mullagh?

    Best wishes

  • Clare-There is more than one Mullagh in Galway-you obviously are not a hurling fan -previously known as Abbeygormican.Ballydugan is part of Leitrim(Kilteskil) parish. They are adjoining parishes.
