Hi, my name is Mary and I am looking for information regarding my great-grandfather Timothy McCrohan, born in 1852 and lived in Caherciveen. His son Eugene McCrohan married Deborah Fogerty after they both moved to New York. If anyone can give me any information about Timothy, such as who his parents were, names of his siblings, etc., that would be greatly appreciated. There are a number of Timothy McCrohans' in my family history with little to no infomation on any of them.

Thanks for you help.  Mary

You may want to check out www.irishgenealogy.ie which is an Irish government site which has a good number of Co. Kerry baptismal and marriage records. I checked 1852 and found this record. Looks like the father's name was Timothy also but no mothers name was shown. The family lived in Reenard townland (spelled Rinard on the record) in Caher civil parish whcih includes Cahersiveen. I would go to the site and go year by year starting 1853 to look for sibling baptisms. (You can also work back from 1851). You can also go to www.census.nationalarchives.ie and search the 1901 and 1911 censuses for McCrohan. I checked and there are McCrohan families in Reenard in 1901.
