I'm looking for anyone researching the family of John and Margaret Warren who lived in Kilgarvan, County Kerry in the mid 1800s. They had three children baptised COI Mary in 1845, Philip in 1849 and Catherine in 1853. Philip Warren, Mary Warren and John Warren and Cornelius Warren all emigrated to New Zealand arriving in 1864.

  • I am wondering if my Philip Warren is connected I'm not sure of a parish but I know was from County Kerry.  He was married to Mary Dumas in 1854. Maybe he was a sibling of your John Warren.  I found his wife Mary Warren in the census in Ireland still in 1901 as a widow living with her mother and her other sister Bridge Quinlan also a widow.

  • Hi ! I have been researching Warrens for quite a few years and never could find many records. My 2nd great grandmother was Ellen Warren from Kilgarvan. She married Jeremiah Buckley and had 6 children that I know of. My great grandmother -Ellen Buckley- emigrated to Salem MA as well as her sister Hanora. I am not sure about the other siblings.

Out of frustration I googled “Gaelic for Warren” and the answer was Murnane. I found a bunch of records using that surname! I hope that helps your research!
