I am trying to find my grandmother's mother who was called Julia Kerins and married a man called Goggins. I think they were from Tralee (certainly from Kerry) as I have an old photo album with a photo of her and 'Daly and Son, Photographers, 47a Nelson St, Tralee' on the back of the photo. I haven't been able to find any information on my grandmother or her 3 siblings on any of the geneology sites. Her name was Eileen Patricia nee Goggins. She had a brother called Lawrence (or Laurence?...he was called Laurie) Goggins and another brother called 'paddy' so he would have been Patrick. One of these brothers was a dentist. i think he trained in Dublin. She had a sister we called Fay who was a doctor and went to live in Ithaca in New York. I'm afraid I don't have any dates but my grandmother died in Croydon, Surrey about 1991. She was born on 10th June but I'm not sure of the year. Possibly about the end of 19th century or very beginning of 20th century as my father was born in 1926 (Patrick) and he had an older sister (Ann). She married a man called Norman Williams and this was in England but I have no earlier record of her or her parents in Ireland. I would be very grateful for any information you may be able to give me. Thank you!

  • Hi, thanks for finding this info, thats very interesting. The names match as Julia Kerins did marry a Goggins as this was my grandmother's maiden name. However, working out the dates, my father was born in 1926 so its likely that my great grandmother would have been married before 1903. I'm not sure what my grandfather's christian name was but he was definitely a Goggins. Thanks so much for looking this up for me! Kerry
