  • Dear G, would be delighted to help you. Can you give us some more details? Do you know where James and Margaret were born or married? Did they remain in Ireland or emigrate? Do you know their children or parents names? Many thanks

  • I don't have much but I believe they were married around the late 1860s as children were baptized in Livaitte and Carrigleigh. Later thety lived in Knocknagoshel. Their last child born was Mary in 1896 and her baptismal record includes Ahane. They did not immigrate but their sons, John, James and Thomas did. James came to NYC. Thomas to Chicago. I do not know their parents names for certain. James father may have been James Roche. Margaret's mother may have been Ellen or Helen Horan. Dad could have been Robert, John or Gerald Joy. I found the baptismal records of their children in church records but nothing on the parents James and Margaret Joy Roche. It is said Margaret lived to over 100 in Kerry but this is only family talk.
