Marriage Info

Hi, I am also a Lannan descendant.  My paternal ggparents were Patrick Lannan and Bridget O'Farrell who came to Australia from Kilkenny in about 1845/50.  I know that Pat had more siblings including Michael who I traced to USA, I also have Edward, Daniel and Thomas but not sure of relationship...brothers/cousins?

I have a site on Ancestry.com and also on My Heritage.com. I am recently in contact with a person who has much Lannan info which she is sending to me.

I live in Qld, but have Tassie connections thru maternal line. If you would like to share info perhaps we may break a few brick walls!

I have info on Lannans of Garryduff..............Catherine Lannan was my gg grandmother........

I would be interested in seeing your info,  I google earthed Garryduff and it is a strong possibility that we have the same/related Catherine.  My searches have led me to Swiftsheath(definate), New Ross, Ballyraggett,Wexford areas. I know for sure Pat&Bridget, Michael &Bridget(Brenan), Mary and another sibling, father Martin& Anastasia (Griffen) and the Farrells were living in Swiftsheath from their .,immigration and Land applottment details, although they were not born there but New Ross/Old Ross etc. They were RC and the Lannan name appears in that section of many of the graveyards. So we are both in the same area! 

From some of the titbits I have read about Patrick in Australia, I get the impression that they did not leave Ireland only because of the potato famine/better opportunity but Pat was probably IRA leaning and a bit of a lad!  Brother Michael went to USA and another brother/cousin Edward may have gone to Canada but not sure about him yet. Mary Lannan (sister) married Edward Kealy and came to Australia.
