Hello all! Does anyone have any information or memories of my family who lived in Meenagh until 1956. My grandparents Frank and Ellen (nee McSharry) Maguire owned the house but info on my grandfather's origins are sketchy at best. He was born in Nottinghamshire but from what I have heard was taken to Meenagh as an infant to live with either his mother or aunt from who he inherited the house. Does anyone know who either of these 2 women were? My grandmother was the youngest daughter of Terence McSharry from Ardmoneen.

I looked at the 1901 and 1911 census records for Meenagh townland. There was only one Maguire family in the townland.There was a son Francis born around 1892. Both censuses indicate that he was born in Co. Leitrim. Is this a different Francis Maguire?

I had noticed Francis Maguire on the census, my great-grandfather maybe? I could do with finding some more information on this man, especially what became of him after the census was taken. I have heard stories that he died around the time of my grandfather's birth in a mining accident somewhere in Nottinghamshire though I am unable to find any records of such an incident.
