Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864, so given the date of the Carney/Murphy marriage there should be a record of it in these records. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:

Weddings usually took place in the bride?s parish of origin so if you know this you can look in church records. Most Catholic records are still held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for assistance, or the family history centre in Leitrim may have copies (info@leitrimroots.com) One website that you may find useful is the Irish TImes where they show you what records are available in specific parishes.
