I've input the ancestor surnames, one per line, in the spaces provided but none of them are showing up on the board page with the posts.

And, when seeing that the surnames didn't appear, I've gone back, hit the edit function, added them again, put the post back & STILL the surnames don't appear.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this  a temporary technical problem?

  • I had the same problem, so I followed the instructions then added the surnames into the body of the post as well.

  • Did I miss something somewhere?  I confess to not always being the smartest person on Earth so that's entirely possible.

Entering the surnames seemed straight forward at first glance.  Here's what I did:

I filled in the post title, entered one surname per space provided, ticked "Add Another Item"  to enter more surnames, chose message type, composed the body of the post,  hit "Apply" to post the entire creation and then went back to the main message board page.

That's when I noticed none of the surnames were appearing on the message board page with my posts.

I went back to my posts a couple of times & using the edit function, again tried to add my surnames, one per space provided & using the add function in order to list more than just the basic two surnames that spaces were given for.

After a couple of unsuccessful tries, I thought maybe the surname spaces might be case sensitive.  I've always put surnames in all upper case & did so in the surname spaces but when the surnames wouldn't show with the rest of the post I though maybe the all upper case usage was the problem so I switched to the standard format of  just upper casing the  first letter of the surname.  Still no luck.

No matter how many times I tried, I couldn't get the surnames to attach, so I gave up.

I had also listed the surnames in the post but your mentioning doing that got me to thinking.  I'd put the surnames at the end of the posts but most likely a better place would be right at the start of the post  where they'd be the first thing people saw so I'm going back & doing that when I finish here.  And maybe I'll take another stab at getting the surnames to attach so they'll appear on the message board page.  I could get lucky.

Was there something else I was supposed to do to set the surnames so they'd appear with the post on the message board?

How did you finally get your surnames to attach so they'd show-up with the post on the message board?
