Hoping to find ancestors of Michael & Eliza McCarthy & family Mary 13, Thomas12,
Cath 9, Ellen 6, natives of Co Limerick left on "Aliquis" 1838 for Sydney, Australia.
Michael 30, Gardener, Eliza 27, Protestants, although have been told they have very Catholic names, and many changed to protestant during 1820's for financial reasons.
A researcher told me years ago a Thomas Reidy had land in Askeaton & Rathkeale, don't know if the same man, or may have been Eliza's father.
Michaels parents John McCarthy, laborer, wife Ellen Warn (Ward, Ware) writing on ship list very bad. Eliza's parents Thomas Reidy, wife Ellen nothing more.
Any help appreciated.

Hello John
Thank you so much for baptisms of Hellen & Maria (Mary) McCarthy, the only glimmer of light
we have ever found of this family. Wonder what happend to "Hellen" Mary certainly came to Australia.

select kilcornan& add it to parish list
& put the same info on the kilcornan board,
as you have on the askeaton board
kilcornan to askeaton 3 miles.
i will search & see if there any more info i
can find on helen in the kilcornan area.
look up kilcornan & askeaton google earth.
