Dear Clare,

Thank you very much for your response. Although my mother never made any reference to Waterford, she also very seldom spoke of her life in Ireland. It is possible that, after her birth, her mother left Limerrick with her to live in Waterford. Is there a mother's age on the baptismal certificate, also an address for her or the father. How did you ever find the baptismal certificate?

Thomas B. Mitchell, with whom my mother resided, must have been a very prominent man. It appears that he was also a lawyer and councilman. There is a book mentioning his name which we  are going to try to purchase on Amazon.

I so appreciate your reply.

Kindest regards,

Alma DeMenna

    Address:Youghal Road

    Parish/District:DUNGARVAN
    County. Waterford

    Denomination:Roman Catholic

Hope you manage to find that book on Amazon!

  • Dear Clare,

Thanks again for responding. Re the information you provided, the baptism was in 1883 and my Mom was born in 1892. so that couldn't have been her. I have contacted Roots and have engaged them to do a search for my mother. I think it best to have a professional check for me.They said it would take several weeks for a report as they are busy at this time.

I do appreciate your interest. I'll let you know what the results in the future.

    Kind regards,

    Alma
