His 1865 NYC tombstone said he was born in Kilmallock, Limerick in 1798. I think he came to the US about 1850. His wife was Margaret Crimmens and children Bridget, Thomas F, Maurice, Mary, and James, all born in Ireland. He had a brother James. Any help?

The RC records for Kilmallock parish start in 1837 in Roots Ireland. www.rootsireland.ie I searched for baptismal records in Kilmallock for children born to Thomas Casey and Margaret Crimmens. I only found one record a Thomas baptized in 1838. Presumably the other children were born before 1837?

Roots is a pay site to view the transcription of the church record.

The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilmallock civil parish shows a Thomas Casey in Bawntard South townland. Possibly this is your Thomas since the survey may have been taken in 1849 and published in 1850.

  • 1855 New York Census- shows Margaret (jr) -born in Ireland and 10yrs old . therefore born 1845

There is no Maurice born 1851-Ireland-showing in 1855- Perhaps this is the worng family ? Or Maurice was born in New York after 1855?
