    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Below is a transcription of Daniel's baptismal record. There were three Johanna Sullivan baptismal records in Mahoonagh: 1819, 1822 and 1824. The 1819 transcription is below.

The couple ( Daniel and Johanna Sullivan) were married January 29th 1837 in Mahoonagh. Witnesses were John Doody and Timothy Sullivan. Mary was baptized in 1838, Margaret 1840, Johanna 1842 and Ellen 1844. I assume the family emigrated soon after 1844?

  • After years of trying to track down where my Doody ancestors came from, I've finally narrowed it down to Mahoonagh.

My g-g grandfather was Martin Doody, born in 1833. He moved to London and married Margaret Smith. Their first child was born in London and then my great grandfather was born in 1868 in upstate New York.

Still filling in additional details, so please let me know if anyone is related to this line, as well.

    Thanks,
    Tim Corrigan.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I assume you have this record? I did not see any siblings on the subscription site Roots Ireland.
