I am trying to find any information about my GGGreatmother Bridget Larkin.

I do not know where or when she was born or where she lived.

She was transported to Australia on the Margaret 3 on 30 April 1840 arriving on 17 August 1840.  She was sentenced to 7 years for receiving stolen goods.

Her trial was in Limerick on 16 December 1839 and was said to be aged 19 years.

From her Death Certificate in 1889 her Father's name was Hubert Larkin.

Any information on how to trace her would be appreciated.

  • See www.census.nationalarchives.ie There are only 2 Hubert Larkin's in the 1901 census. Hubert is a rear name in the Larkin family. But these may be a starting point for you. Christian names run in family's, this is how I distinguish between different Larkin's in the same area. I have extracted details on 12 Larkin family's from 1901 census living in Co Limerick. There are 7 Bridget Larkin's in my records some may be nieces of your Bridget.
