Hello,
I'm searching for my paternal grandmother's parents, Daniel Sheehan, and possibly, Anne Barry. Daniel was supposedly from County Limerick, but I'm not sure where Anne was from; but I think she may have also been from Limerick because she has the same surname as Daniel's mom.
I do not know i this information is accurate, so please look for records even if their parents' names and dates differ.
Daniel Sheehan (surname variations could be: Sheahan, Sheaghan, Shean). Note: I found his name listed as"Sheahan" on my grandmother's baptism record. All other legal records list it as "Sheehan," supposedly the proper/correct speling of the surname.
December 10, 1870
Parents: Daniel Sheehan and Margaret Barry
Arrival: Supposedly in 1893 at Ellis Island, NY.
Anne Barry
April 16, 1872
Parent: John Barry
Arrival: Supposedly in 1888 (mid to late 1880s) in NY.
They were married in NY in 1897/1898, and had my grandmother in 1899.
My great grandparents are listed on the 1920 Census for NYC, and my great grandfather is listed in the 1925 Census for NYC with my grandparents, but my great grandmother is not listed on that one. I can't find them in any other Census lists. Do you think they may have moved back to Ireland and returned to the U.S.?

Do you know much about their emigration? Dates, the reason why they left, who they may have travelled with etc.? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than the port of departure. Since you know which city they arrived at (New York) the Ellis Island records could be a good place to find more information, and perhaps even find out an exact place of origin.
If you haven't already You could try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
or the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64) http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
or the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS) https://familysearch.org/ for Daniel & Anne's relatives.

Some other information: The census birth dates vary from the other documents.
I am going to post this in other neighboring counties as well.Great grandparents were from Ireland, possibly County Limerick, as shown on great grandfather's naturalization record.
