HI FROM AUSTRALIA, I AM CHASING A SMIDGE MORE DETAIL TO DAVID FITZGERALD WHO MARRIED ELIZABETH NOLAN (B1840 TOOMALINE, DOON) MARRIED DOON 14 FEB 1863.  THEY HAD 18 CHILDREN BORN IN MOROE BOHER, 11 DIED, 5 CAME TO AUSTRALIA, MY GREAT GRAND FATHER JOHN ONE.

I HAVE BEEN CHASING PROOF OF WHO DAVIDS FATHER WAS, BUT MARRIAGE WAS PRE 1864 OF CIVIL RECORDS AND THUS THE PARISH OF DOON (CASHEL & EMLY) DID NOT RECORD 'FATHERS'

DAVID RAN A FARM IN TURAGH AS PER THE 1901 CENSUS (MAIN STREET), WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE SAME FARM AS A JOHN FITZGERALD FROM THE 1850 GRIFFITH VALUATIONS.  QUESTION RE DAVID TO RUN THE SAME FARM AS A JOHN, WOULD THAT MEAN HE INHERITED IT, THUS HIS FATHER WAS JOHN.

HOW WOULD I FIND OUT THIS TRANSFER AND WHEN IF I CANNOT FIND A WILL?

I HAVE A CASHEL & EMLY LISTING OF POSSIBLE PARENTS FOR DAVID, AND A JOHN WAS NOT ONE OF THEM.  BUT IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE TO TAKE OVER A FARM FROM A JOHN FITZGERALD UNLESS IT WAS HIS FATHER??

IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT DAVIDS BROTHER WAS A JOHN WHO MARRIED BRIDGET COFFY AND ON THE 1901 CENSUS LIVED DROMSALLAGH.  WOULD THIS BE CORRECT FOR ANY KIN WHO IS VIEWING THIS?

LAST QUESTION...WOULD THE FITZGERALDS IN MUROE BOHER BE RELATED?

THANK YOU

I checked the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were two David Fitzgerald baptismal records in Murroe Boher around 1833-1837.

David Fitzgerald baptized February 27 1835 father Thomas Fitzgerald mother Ellen O'Connor

David Fitzgerald baptized January 5 1837 father Edward Fitzgerald mother Margaret Bourke

Is it possible that John Fitzgerald was either an uncle or grandfather to David and David's father died young and the farm then passed from John to David?

Have you tested your DNA? Possibly you will match with 3rd cousins who have more family info.
