My Great Great Great Grandparents Ellen Hayes (1817) born in Limerick Ireland, she died 20 October 1892 in Chicago, Illinois, USA  Her parents were John Hayes (1784) and Brigitte Higgins (1789 - 1887) -  John and Brigitte were married in 1808 in Cashel, Limerick, Ireland.

Ellen Hayes Married Patrick Hurley (1809) born in Limerick Irelan, he died in 1879 in Chicago, Chook County, Illinois, USA.  They were married by Fr. Daniel McVay on March 1 1835 in Rathkeale, Limerick Ireland.  Immigration 1825.

My name is Brigitte Mary Schmidt and I am working with my daughter Margaret Grace in researching our family tree.  I do have the family bibles and photo's as well as other artifacts.

  • In 1825 a group of immigrants from Tipperary were brought to Canada by the British government.

    There was a Hurley family in the group.  Patrick and Ellen with 6 children ages 3 to 18

    were aboard a ship called the Brunswick.

    Ellen died shortly after or on the way to Canada and Patrick married Judith English(Inglis)

    my great.....grandmother.  They settled in Peterborough Ont.  Their descendents may

    be who you are looking for.  Search Peter Robinson settlers for more information.

    The Peterborough archives are a wealth of information too.
