The National Library of Ireland just placed all RC parish registers online for free searching. Here is the link to the Rathkeale register. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0892   You will note that there is an eight year gap between July 1823 and September 1831 and possibly William was baptized during the "gap" period. I would check out the register.

  • Thank you Roger.  My appologies for the delayed response, but this is the first time since joining that I went back and checked my original posting.   I had been looking for an email, but had forgotten to check this option when I signed up.    I have checked Rath Keale baptisms before at other on line sites, but will recheck the original images at NLI.  If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

All the best with your search. You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing. Possibly you may match with someone who has more information on your O'Neill family.
