Hello everyone,
I'm new here, having discovered only a couple of weeks ago that my ancestor, John FALLAHEE b. 1798, came from your beautiful parish. He joined the British army in 1804, was shipped out the following year to Quebec and fought in the war of 1812-14, finally acquiring land in a place that is now part of Ottawa, then moving to a small town. John married Ellen BURNS, also from Ireland -- I don't know where. They became pioneers in Canada.
John joined and served in the 100th Regiment of Foot. His children all spelled their surname FALLAHAY. This name is spelled many different ways, a fact that makes it hard to search. I would be grateful for help in any direction to find out more about this family. I'd also be willing to share information with anyone who may be looking for relatives with this unusual surname in Canada.

In the meantime have you tried looking at church records in Rathkeale to see if you can find any more information about the family? Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. For Rathkeale parish, follow this link:

Fallahee was not a very common name in Ireland during the 19th century as you can see from this link:

Using the land record called Griffith?s Valuation (1848-64) you can see the Fallahee?s that were recorded in Limerick:
As you can see this Fallahee was recorded in Adare which is a few parishes over from Rathkeale.
However, there were also Fallahy?s recorded in Limerick, one of which was in Rathkeale:
I wonder if any of these are connected to your Fallahee?
In the earlier land record called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) there was a Cornelius Fallahee recorded in Kilscannell parish which neighbours Rathkeale:
