  • Dear Shellie, you can find Kilfeighny Civil Parish (which includes Banemore townland) here

    http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~irlker/civparlist.html

near the top of the map surrounded by Dysert, Kilshenane and Kilflynn.

    Further details here

    http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~irlker/kilfeighny.html

It was in the Listowel Poor Law Union.

Have you made contact with St John's Cof I, Tralee already?

Since the congregations were generally smaller they often have more information than their larger RC counterparts.

I look forward to hearing from you again soon

  • My John Palmer leased the property in Bunnow (Dingle) now near Camp Dingle. The NUI Landed Estates info links the Palmer of Bunnow with the Palmer of Listowel, Baunemore,   I am not sure about this linkage.

My research seems to be providing Robert John Palmer info, but doesn't solve my confusion.  For your part if you look up John Grove Palmer in the roots wen info . You will see the detail that John Grove Palmer 's son is Robert John Palmer, John Grove was the Attorney General for Bermuda from 1783-1801. He died in England in 1832.

Robert John Palmer's sister Fanny married Charles J. Austen, brother of Jane Austen , the famous writer. The roots web info is from an issue of Gentleman's Magazine --an obit on John Grove

  • Hi Shellie,

I don't know if this is of any interest but here is a picture of Fanny and a listing of letters she wrote.
