Seeking information of Griffin family from Cashel. Ellen Griffin b 1842/3 father George mother Margaret Mulloway. George occupation farmer. Ellen as a single women without her parents arrived in Melbourne Australia 1858. It is possible she meet her future husband Michael McNamara on the ship "Rodney". They married in 1861 and sadly Ellen died in childbirth in 1870 living five small children. Her marriage and death certificates confirm she came from Cashel Tipperary and information of her parents. I have no further knowledge of her life in Ireland.

The record below is a possible baptismal record for Ellen even though it is 6-7 years earlier that 1842-1843. The record is in Cashel and the father is George. The transcription shows Mary but the register appears to show Margt. The name is Molony not Mulloway. Any possibility this is the correct record?

Thank you for your reply. I don't think it is my Ellen, although she was not able to write and gave her mark on the marriage certificate. Also with her accent the mothers name could have been written incorrectly. My concern is with the date as I feel her age of nineteen at marriage was correct.
