I am looking for information on Patrick McDonnell b. 1786 Longford Co. He immigrated to USA arriving New York New York in 1811. Was married to mary? abt 1815 in NewYork. There were many McDonnells in this area registered in military for the War of 1812. He had 2 known children, both males. John James b. 1816 and unk male b. 1825 died young. Patrick died 1855 in Davenport, Iowa..Scott County Usa.

Only one RC church in Co. Longford (Granard) has records existing back to 1786. I just checked Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie and there are no Patrick McDonnells on their data base in the late 1700s. Likely Patrick was baptized in a Co. Longford church but the records no longer exist. You will need to find info in the USA to identify where Patrick came from and I assume you have already searched for those records.
