You could check up the Maps on the Griffiths Valuation  (1850's) to find the exact location of the Moran Homestead in 1850's, often you find in Rural Villages that the Land remained in the same family.  This goes to the 1850's

You might want to search the Aughagower Cemeteries (there are 4, 2 very old ones beside the Round Tower, and 2 Newer ones on the Hill Behind the village.

We are tracing my mother's Irish heritage through her maternal grandfather, Peter Thomas Laughlin. He was born in County Mayo in 1847. Ultimately, we would love his certificate of batism and/or birth, if it exists.

His parents are: Michael Laughlin and Catherine McEvely (or McEvilly) and his sister is: Mary Laughlin.

His father, listed as Michael Laughlin in our family history, may have been christened Peter Michael Laughlin.

We have his birth listed in Aghagower Parish, County Mayo, Connaught, Ireland in 1813.

He immigrated to the U.S. with his wife and two children in 1851.

Michael's father, Peter L. Laughlin, was born in Ireland in 1797 and died in Aghagower Parish, County Mayo in 1841.

We are looking for any and all information on this Laughlin family line and would be interested to meet any of their relative's decendents who may still live in Ireland.

On my Peter Thomas Laughlin's maternal side, we have traced back to his great-grandfather, John Fargus, born in Murisk, County Mayo.  We know much history of his sons and daughter (Peter Thomas Laughlin's grandmother, Bridget Fargus).

Anyone who can help us trace lineage, acquire documents and photos, would be much appreciated.  I have looked in all of the sites that were referenced in the Moran post and have not had much luck finding anything definitive.
