Hi my ancestors (James Barrett and Bridget Larkin) are from thevtownland of Lower Carrocus, Baroney of Tirawley, diocese of Killala, parish of Kilbride County Mayo. Can anyone tell me where that is today i.e. what town is the closest?

I believe you are looking for Carrowneden townland in Kilbride parish. Carrowneden is seven and half kilometers northeast of the town of Ballycastle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballycastle,_County_Mayo
I think if you use Google maps you will find the location. There are three other Carrowneden townlands in Mayo down near Swinford and Claremorris so don't get confused when you use Google Maps.
