My maternal great grandfather was named Patrick Moran.  He immigrated to Chicago from Roscahill, Kilmeena but his name is so common, I'm having an impossible time narrowing down my search to determine any additional information on him from his time in Ireland.  The best birth date I have been able to find for him is 2 MAY 1875.  The US Social Security records, Chicago Tribune, and my mother confirm a date of death of 6 FEB 1947.  I found the Griffith's Index information (attached) that appears to match his Obituary from the Chicago Tribune from 1947.  I think his father's name was John and his mother was likely Ellen Browne but I haven't been able to confirm that information.  There is another Browne by the name of John on the Griffiths page that I think could be a relation of his mother.  I'm new to researching in Ireland and will take any help you can give to confirm birth dates, parents' names, etc.  If you have any tips on trying to narrow down the results of such a common name, I would appreciate it as well.
